Event Description:

The Vancouver Island Purpose & Business Collaborative (VIPBC) has a vision to transform Vancouver Island into a Hub of Social Purpose Impact. It is a collaboration led by Sooke and Tofino in partnership with the Canadian Purpose Economy Project, and participating chambers. It is offering a 2-year program of education and connection to support Vancouver Island businesses to grow their business and drive community impact.

What’s Included

1. SOCIAL PURPOSE Live Webinar Series (2026)

  • May 28 Video Recording – Changing Leadership for Changing Times: The Business Case for Purpose

  • September 17 – Uncovering Your Social Purpose

  • November 19 – Embedding Social Purpose Into Your Business

Each session includes follow-up office hours for Q&A, troubleshooting, and deeper support.

2. Additional SOCIAL PURPOSE Resources

5 part webinar course, "Building Your Social Purpose Business." These are free on-demand resources participants can access at their own pace for deeper understanding. Access the webinar course here.

3. SOCIAL PURPOSE Community of Practice (2027)

Graduates of the program will be invited to join a Vancouver Island-based Community of Practice—a collaborative network of businesses committed to advancing social purpose. Facilitated by Tessa Vanderkop, Co-founder of the Canadian Purpose Economy Project and social purpose expert, the community provides ongoing peer learning, practical tools and shared problem-solving to help businesses strengthen their impact and performance.

In this community, you will:

  • Share social purpose insights, tools, and best practices
  • Build partnerships and collaborations
  • Strengthen your impact through collective action
  • Learn alongside peers facing similar challenges and opportunities
  • Stay accountable and continue progressing on your purpose journey

$25 fee for members of participating chambers for all three sessions
$35 for non chamber members for all three sessions
